Self-care, Be It

BE what you want to attract.David Fugel

There is a line in the Rocky Horror Picture Show that is “don’t dream it, be it”! As hard as I tried, I could not create a life that I was not “living”. In all the years that I struggled, this is not a concept that I could comprehend.

What I really wanted could not be forced. It would remain outside of my grasp as long as I carried the energy of wallowing in the misery of my story. I would try to mask my fear and worry but it would inevitably bubble up as impatience and intolerance with everyone and everything in my life.
My bold and misguided statement was, “that’s who I am.” While I was being “who I was”, I witnessed the march of reasons to be more afraid and worried. I fell further from the life of peace and calmness that I was craving.

So much time was spent BEING angry, guilty, frustrated, afraid, and confused. And what was the result? More to be angry, guilty, frustrated, and confused about! Big surprise! What took me so long to notice that truth?

What if I could just BE loving, grateful, and trusting NOW? Wouldn’t that be more in alignment with what I wanted to attract and create? That felt like a big YES, and unexpectedly, being what I wanted to attract and creating the life that I was living made perfect sense. Aha!
